The EVO-STIK League West's Blues were set to kick off in the preliminary round at the Merseyside home of the North West Counties Football League club on Saturday before the tie was postponed on Thursday after the FA started an enquiry into the team they fielded in an extra-preliminary round victory over Charnock Richard.
Litherland used their official Twitter account to confirm the investigation and postponement soon after the FA made their decision public, @RemycaUtd posting: "This Saturday's FA Cup tie has been postponed due to an ongoing investigation regarding an ineligible player. The club will not make any further comment at this time."

Radcliffe FC are looking forward to flying the flag for the EVO-STIK League at Prestwich Heys in front of a global audience at lunchtime on Saturday after being chosen to showcase the BBC's new extended coverage of every round.
Millions of fans are expected to watch the preliminary round clash between the EVO-STIK League West club and the North West Counties Football League Division One outfit after the BBC confirmed their cameras were heading to Adie Moran Park to stream the 12.30pm kick-off across BBC Sport's digital platforms, allowing audiences to watch the game live on PC, mobile, via the Red Button on connected TVs and the BBC iPlayer.
