The defender, pictured, will be regaling supporters with tales from his career as guest speaker at the EVO-STIK League North club's event at Manchester's Davyhulme Park Golf Club on Friday 2 March.
Now 46 and one of Sky Sport's army of pundits, Howey kicked off his career at Newcastle, making 191 appearances and scoring six goals. After signing for City in 2000 for a £2 million pound fee, he went on to play for Leicester City, Bolton Wanderers and New England Revolution in the American MLS before returning to the UK and retiring in 2005 after making one substitute appearance for Hartlepool United.
Comedian Tony Roscoe is also booked for the event with tickets now on sale at £30 per person. Former Northern Ireland international and Morecambe manager Sammy Mcllroy was the guest speaker at Trafford's last sportsman's night before Christmas.
