FA Cup fourth qualifying round draw

By James Gordon

The draw has been made for the FA Cup fourth qualifying round.

Six Pitching In Northern Premier League clubs are in the draw, with a place in the FA Cup first round proper at stake.

The draw was made live on talkSPORT radio earlier this afternoon, with National League sides entering the competition.

Those definitely in the fourth qualifying round are South Shields, who host Scunthorpe United, and Hyde United who visit reigning NPL champions Buxton.

Worksop Town, currently the only NPL step 4 club guaranteed its place, will travel to Alvechurch having beaten Gainsborough Trinity at the weekend.

The other three NPL clubs in the draw must successfully navigate third qualifying round replays this week.

Hanley Town welcome Chester with the prize a trip to former Premier League side Oldham Athletic in the next round, while Stocksbridge Park Steels will go to King’s Lynn Town if they can get past Ashington in their replay.

The winners of Clitheroe’s tie with Bury AFC will host York City.

The fourth round qualifying is scheduled for Saturday 15 October, with clubs at this stage picking up £9375 from the competition prize fund and taking their place in the first round proper, while losing teams come away with £3125.
