Radcliffe Borough & FC United of Manchester

Radcliffe Borough and FC United of Manchester fans had better turn up early for Saturday’s friendly between the Evo-Stik NPL sides as the clubs are putting on an action packed family fun day for supporters.

Boro’s last home warm-up before the new season kicks off on Saturday week starts at 10am with a 6-a-side tournament followed by a veterans tournament at 11am. A 6-a-side competition for girls follows before an Under 8s tournament for the clubs' boys at lunchtime.

The clubs are also laying on bouncy castles, junior fair rides and face painting for youngsters while adults can soak up the atmosphere with special offers at the bar until 1pm while warming up for a sports quiz later.

Boro’s major shareholder Bernard Manning said: "We’ve worked hard with FC United to put this day together and it looks like there'll be a lot happening. We all hope it will be a great success as both clubs are looking to use any funds raised towards their ground development projects. It'll be a busy and enjoyable day for all the family."

The club’s patron also appealed for budding players among their fans to test their skills against FC United’s supporters.

"FC United are busy organising their teams to compete and we’ve already organised our Under 8s and Girls Under 15s teams," said Manning. "Now we need to organise two fans teams of Under 40s and over to take them on so if you are up for a challenge and a bit of fun, step forward and put your name down!"

He added: "All you need to do is contact us at rbfc@hotmail.co.uk or speak to Pete Lofthouse at the club on 0161-724-8346 or 07766-911520."

Admission prices on Saturday are Adults £7, Concessions £5 and £2 for teenagers aged 16 to 18. Under 16s go free if accompanied by an adult.
