FC United lose Joe Rodwell

FC United have announced the departure of striker Joe Rodwell.

He returns to Wigan Athletic having bagged five goals and two assists in 20 appearances for the club.

On his departure, Rodwell said: “I’ve loved my time at FC United. There were many highs and it was good to score a few goals, but playing in front of those every weekend was class.

“The players and staff were excellent too, so I just want everyone at FC United all the best.”

Rodwell’s final appearance came from the bench in last month’s 2-0 victory at Nantwich Town.
