FC United make early moves ahead of NPL return

FC United have been busy building their squad for their return to the EVO-STIK League Premier Division.

They have signed the 2018/19 NPL Golden Boot winner Chris Almond from Prescot Cables.

Almond, 32, scored 31 goals in 36 games in all competitions last season and topped the charts in the West Division.

Also following assistant manager Brian Richardson from Prescot is young central midfielder Jack Lenehan.

Creative midfielder Craig Carney, 26, has joined from Marine, along with right-back Oliver Crowley from Ashton United.

Former Nottingham Forest and Bradford forward Nialle Rodney moves from Ramsbottom United, while Regan Linney is re-united again with Neil Reynolds having joined from Bamber Bridge.

The signings already take FC United’s squad number to 22 following their relegation from National League North.
