Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Worksop Town certainly deserved their six point haul over Christmas thanks to home wins over Ilkeston and title-chasing Skelmerdale United.
Before beating Ilkeston 5-2 at Sandy Lane on Boxing and the top flight's leaders 3-2 on Christmas Saturday, Mark Shaw's third placed Tigers took time out to play Santa to help cheer up sick youngsters stuck in hospital over the festive period.
Assistant manager Pete Shuttleworth, second left, is pictured with members of the squad heading into the children's ward at the Bassetlaw Hospital in Worksop to hand out presents the Premier Division club's staff and players had clubbed together to buy.
* Young defender Jack Broadhead arrived on a month's loan from League Two side Chesterfield on Thursday following the Tigers' 1-0 reverse at Matlock Town on New Year's Day.
Broadhead, 19, who had a three-month spell on loan with league rivals Buxton earlier this season, was handed a professional contract by the Spireites last season after progressing through their youth system. The teenager will remain at Sandy Lane until February 1.
