Prior to kick off, the club announced the trio signings of John Lufudu, Jordan Slew and Lloyd Allinson.
Full-back Lufudu was the first of the three signings, joining from Tadcaster Albion.
Former football league striker Slew was next announced, followed by ex-FC United goalkeeper Allinson.
Both Allinson and Lufudu started for Ashton United against Grantham in the BetVictor Northern Premier League, whilst Slew featured from the bench and scored on his debut to make it 4-0.
On the new signings and their debuts, head coach Banim told Ashton UnitedTV: "Lloyd’s kicking is good. He’s come in from Guiseley AFC and I know him well from his FC United days.
"He had a really good season at FC and there was talk of him moving on higher but he had an injury sustained to his hand and I think he spent a lot of last season out and finished the season on loan, but we kept tabs on him. He went to Guiseley and it’s not quite worked out so there was an opportunity to bring him in."
Banim continued, "John Lufudu, people will know him well from the two games against Tadcaster.
"We just couldn’t get past him over the two games. He was absolutely fantastic and his recovery pace is some of the best I’ve ever seen.
“Jordan came on and got his goal.
"I think he just needs to play. If you look at his career so far, he hasn’t really played anywhere. He’s gone to teams and been in and out.
"I think he just needs a manager to get a grip of him and say ‘listen, you’re just going to play and I’ll stick by you’.
"I think we’ll get results of him. He scored a really good goal tonight on his wrong foot and had another on his left foot that just slashed past the posts. He needs to get sharper now and fitter which is what we’ll try and help him with."
It was the Robins' second win of the season, promoting them to 15th in the table.
