Hull, 18, signed his first professional contract at the AESSEAL New York Stadium last month, and will join Matlock on a two-month youth loan.
Matlock manager Paul Phillips said: “I know we have Yatesy who plays in the centre but to be honest, he’s done so well at right-back, so it gives us more cover should anything happen to Sam (Egerton) and Ryan (Qualter), we can also play three at the back if need be so bringing in Jake gives us that more adaptability.
"We’ve been looking at him for a while. We’re also trying to forge a good relationship with Rotherham which we feel will be beneficial to both clubs.”
He could make his debut in the upcoming Pitching In Northern Premier League opening weekend against Bamber Bridge this Saturday.
