Fixtures release starts countdown

The Evo-Stik Northern Premier League's fans, players, officials and managers are running the rule over the new season's fixtures today [Wednesday] following their publication.

The fixtures, available to view under the 'Match Info' tab on the home page in date order, have thrown up a host of mouth-watering clashes on the opening day to the new campaign, Saturday August 17.

In the Premier Division two sides expected to mount strong challenges, Worksop Town and FC United of Manchester, meet at Sandy Lane. Stafford Rangers will hope to get off to a winning start to make up for their mid table finish last time around when they travel to AFC Flyde.

Evo-Stik NPL newcomers Barwell welcome Chorley while Droylsden travel to Stocksbridge Park Steels.

First Divsion North champions Skelmersdale United kick off in the NPL's top flight with a trip to Rushall Olympic while Trafford, who came up with them via the play-offs, entertain Matlock Town.

Last season's First Division South winners King's Lynn Town also travel with the Linnets heading for Nantwich Town. Stamford AFC, promoted as play-off winners, are at home to Frickley Athletic.

Elsewhere in the top flight, Ashton host Grantham Town, Buxton welcome Witton Albion, Blyth Spartans head to Marine and Whitby entertain Marine.

In First Division North, newcomers Darlington 1883 have been handed a home debut against Warrington Town while Padiham travel to Northwich Victoria. Kendal Town, relegated last season, start their bounce back mission with a tough trip to Mossley who'll be aiming to be aiming to be among the challengers again.

Evo-Stik NPL new boys Scarborough Athletic will be away on the opening day in First Division South when they travel to Kidsgrove Athletic while Bedworth United, switched from the Southern League, are also on the road at Carlton Town.

Eastwood Town came down in May and will kick off their bid to regain their top flight status at home to Market Drayton Town. Coalville Town, who came so close to winning the title last time out, go again away at Sutton Coldfield Town.
