Chorley's fans have signed Garry Flitcroft and a top comedy line-up to help celebrate the 90th birthday of their supporters group on Saturday night.

The Chorley FC Supporters Club enlisted the Magpies manager to help with ticket sales at the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League club on Tuesday, pictured, with fans hoping this weekend's fundraiser will boost their coffers to buy a new stadium PA system.

Fans have already raised £1,500 from a sponsored walk and a string of quiz nights. Tickets for the show, which starts at 7.45pm, are £15. Chorley Supporters Club Vice-Chairman Josh Vosper said they're hoping to sell out their biggest event of the campaign at Victory Park as they mark a milestone anniversary.

Vosper said: "This is one of our biggest events of the year and I hope plenty of people will come down and support us. After a string of successful quiz nights, we decided to bring stand-up comedy to Victory Park.

"We've got Steve Royle from BBC Radio Lancashire coming down and comedians Phil Walker, Jamie Sutherland and Mick Ferry from the prestigious UK Comedy Circuit. The night will undoubtedly be a laugh and we hope we can get the social club jam-packed.

"We're putting this night on in celebration of the Supporters’ Club 90th anniversary and I think it's marvellous that we are still going strong and supporting the football club as best as we can."
