Ossett Albion welcomed back fans favourite Dale Kelly ahead of the weekend’s FA Trophy action after the striker agreed to make an early return to the Evo-Stik NPL First Division North club.

Kelly, pictured, started out with Albion’s U19s before quickly establishing himself as a first team frontman. He was snapped up by Premier Division Stocksbridge Park Steels last season.

Kelly was back at the WareHouse Systems Stadium before Saturday's FA Trophy Preliminary Round and the Golds' joint manager Lloyd Fellows was delighted to see a familiar face back on board.

He said: "We nurtured Dale in the U19s when he first joined the club and are delighted that he has agreed to return to the fold. Dale is a class player and will be an asset to the club."

Kelly was available to play in Albion’s 1-0 defeat at New Mills on Saturday alongside fellow new boy Nathan Dixon.

The midfielder made the switch last week from league and town rivals Ossett Town. Dixon played in Glasshoughton Welfare's successful NCE side last season and also has Conference experience with Grimsby Town.

Lloyd Fellows said: "Nathan comes highly recommended and will be another asset to our small squad. He is a class midfielder and a welcome addition."

Albion Chairman Stephen Hanks welcomed both players to the club. "I am delighted at the two new signings and extend a warm welcome to the club to both players. I hope they have a long and happy stay at the club," he said.
