Hall leaves Witton for Nantwich

Nantwich Town have signed goalkeeper Greg Hall from Premier Division rivals Witton Albion.

Hall, 33, is a former four-time North West Counties Football League Goalkeeper of the Year and has played for Glossop North End, Radcliffe, Maine Road, 1874 Northwich, Trafford and Ashton United.

Manager Dave Cooke said: “Greg is a keeper that’s impressed me every time I’ve watched him. His record last season speaks for itself, and we have been blessed with good-quality keepers recently with Will [Jaaskelainen] and Fabian [Spiess].

“Greg will add to that; he is great in communication and very passionate about his football, and I think that he is a perfect fit for us.”

Hall added: “My immediate reaction to joining the club was that of joy and real excitement. I just can’t wait to get going.

“Massive thanks must go to the manager who was the main reason why I find myself at such a top club. He’s a top man and made this whole process really easy for me.

“I’ve got a big heart and I must say that leaving Witton was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make.”
