After being named as one of the Northern Premier League's January 'Club of the Month' winners alongside Grantham Town in the top flight and Scarborough Athletic in EVO-STIK League North, the Blues collected their reward this week before hosting Alvechurch at the Big Fellas Stadium.
Frickley Athletic director Penny Wall and chairman Stuart Highfield collected the club's reward for the lightning start to the second half of the NPL's historic 50th anniversary season by Spencer Fearn's side on Tuesday night from the EVO-STIK League's referees liaison officer John Jones, pictured left.
Like all winners of the monthly accolades, the duo were presented with an engraved glass memento and a bottle of spirits at Westfield Lane to celebrate the EVO-STIK League South club's form and results in January.
The Blues were worthy recipients of the performance award after a run that saw Fearn's now fifth-placed side climb to second in the table on the back of five straight victories, three of them away from home against some of their biggest rivals for promotion in Chasetown, Corby Town and Stamford.
