Hot-shot available on loan deal

By David Watters

Southport are looking to send former Skelmersdale United striker Connor McCarthy out on loan in the EVO-STIK Northern Premier League.

The National League's Sandgrounders kick off their campaign this weekend and say the 21-year-old is available for an immediate loan for the 2016-17 season.

McCarthy signed for Southport in February 2015 and penned a new one year contract extension at Haig Avenue in June.

The center-forward scored seven goals and received glowing reports from his two spells on loan at AFC Telford last season and Southport boss Andy Bishop believes another spell out on loan will further his development.
