Prescot Cables Chairman Tony Zeverona has hailed the return of Karl Connolly to the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League's Tigers.
The striker, pictured, enjoyed an illustrious career in the Football League with Wrexham, QPR and Swansea, playing 440 games and scoring 101 times. The 43-year-old last played for the First Division North club in 2009, his second spell at Valerie Park.
He returns for a third time to coach to David Powell's first team forwards as well as the club's youth and reserve team strikers. His duties will also include assisting Joe Gibilru with the reserves.
Zeverona said: "We are delighted to welcome Karl back. He rang me and offered his services and who could turn down an offer like that as he is a great acquisition to the football club and is very well respected in the game."
Connolly, who's also played for NEWI Cefn Druids and won the Welsh Cup with Wrexham, turned out for Warrington Town from 2009 to 2011 after leaving the Tigers before ending his playing career at the age of 41.
