Hucknall hand Cameroon keeper fresh start

Hucknall have handed former Cameroon keeper Alex Malong the chance to continue rebuilding his career at Watnall Road.

The big stopper joins the Evo-Stik NPL First Division South Yellows after stepping up from Central Midlands League outfit Glapwell.

Since ariving in the UK he's after been rapidly climbing the Non-League Pyramid, joining Northamptonshire outfits Blisworth, Northampton Spencer, Wellingborough Town and Rothwell Town in successive seasons.

Malong, who’s previously played in the Far East in Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand, caught the eye of then Conference side Kettering Town but the move was put on hold following a family tragedy.

Recent attempts to sign for a number of professional clubs fell through, prompting the keeper to join Glapwell on a short term deal earlier this season and quickly claim the number one spot.
