Stamford AFC are fueling the stars of the future after teaming up with fast foot sandwich experts Subway!

The Evo-Stik NPL First Division South Daniels have signed a deal with their local branch that will see the High Street outlet donate 10p to the club’s youth development schemes every time a selected Subway and regular sized drink is sold.

The Lincolnshire club announced the partnership with the national food outlet chain yesterday [Wednesday] as part of their new community fundraising initiative and say the innovative deal will run until the end of the campaign.

Local Subway franchisee Bob Moodliar says he jumped at chance to give something back to the community by supporting the town’s top local side.

He said: "Sport plays an essential part in our community and we hope to help these young players get the things they need with everyone's support. Whatever we raise will go straight to the club, so the more support we get, the better it is for the kids."

Stamford AFC's football development manager Ian Evley is equally as enthusiastic about the partnership which gives Daniels supporters and their families and friends a fun incentive to tuck in and help raise club funds at the same time.

"We're delighted that the Stamford High Street Subway store will be supporting our club through their donations," he said. "We'll be using the funds to invest in activities that have a positive impact on player enjoyment such as coaching education, equipment and facilities.

"Stamford AFC Football Development Centre is a not for profit club at the heart of the community, so all our teams from under-7s to under-18s will really benefit from the fantastic support the people of Stamford gives us."

Stamford's recently appointed Chairman Chris Rivett, pictured, added: "We're very grateful to Subway and to Bob Moodliar in particular for creating this innovative sponsorship opportunity. The backing the local business community provides for the club is very important and recently we've been able to attract additional support from companies outside the town, who are keen to be associated with a progressive football club.

"The fact that we have a successful multinational chain like Subway willing to get behind the club as well is very encouraging. The first-team have made a solid start to the season and people are sitting up and taking notice of the progress that is being made on and off the field in a relatively short space of time.

"This relationship with Subway provides the opportunity for fans to support the development of the club's future stars and it is one we are all excited about."
