i-Kan To Sponsor Sheffield

Company to sponsor Club home and away shirts

Sheffield FC, the World’s First Football Club, kicked-off the 2011/12 Evo-Stik League Season today, with a hat-trick of unveilings. A new Manager, Mark Shaw, a new kit manufacturer, Errea and a new shirt sponsor, i-Kan GC.

Shaw has built a new team, around a number of last year’s promising youngsters that has had a very successful pre-season capturing the scalps of a number of clubs from higher divisions. If the pre-season form is continued into the league programme, then fans can expect an exciting season ahead.

The club’s new shirt sponsor, iKan GC, is part of International Golf Development (IGD), and the deal cements further an existing working relationship between the ‘World’s First Football Club’ and IGD. Initially a 12 month deal, the partnership, that crosses the boundaries of two sports, Football and Golf, will see the two organisations working together on a number of domestic and international projects.

i-Kan will be working with Sheffield FC to deliver coaching in both the football and golf arenas using the ‘World’s First Football Club’s’ community programme to expand and deliver golf coaching into schools and local community organisations.
Chairman Richard Tims was delighted at securing the new deal, “It is great to see a company like i-Kan pushing the boundaries of sport supporting sport. They obviously understand the aspirations of the football club in becoming a true community player and want to be part of an exciting future.”

Richard’s sentiments were echoed by IGD Head of Marketing Guy Higton, “We are aware of the position that Sheffield FC holds in the world of football and we look forward to developing the i-Kan brand in partnership with the World’s Oldest Football Club.”

The new Club shirt, manufactured by Errea, also sees the club continue its relationship with local kit supplier KitLocker. Replica shirts will be available for fans to purchase from the club shop shortly.
