Interactive programme helps pick Player of the Month

Frickley Athletic are pioneering an interactive feature in their matchday programme to decide their Bowland Brewery Player of the Month this season.

The EVO-STIK East Division side decide on their Player of the Month based on the votes they receive in a unique way.

The augmented reality feature in the programme allows fans to vote for their Man of the Match using a smartphone and an app, with all votes during the month contributing to the final award.

Their winner for September, receiving the award and a case of Bowland ale, is Tyler Walton.

Frickley's Michael Johnson said: "We are doing this to recognise consistently high performance throughout the month."

The interactive programme idea is the brainchild of Chris Medwell, part of the club's media team.
