Leek Town goalkeeper Daniel Lloyd-Weston has left the Harrison Park club to get more regular games with Evo-Stik Northern Premier League rivals Market Drayton Town, writes Michael Cope.
Lloyd-Weston, who had been vying all season with Danny Roberts for the number one jersey initially lost his place at the Evo-Stik NPL First Division outfit in early November when he underwent dental surgery.
However, when Roberts was listed at his own request earlier this year, Lloyd-Weston regained his place in the side only to lose it again when he opted for trials at a couple of Football League clubs. While away, Ben Chapman returned to the club from Airbus UK, keeping him out of the side once again.
Lloyd-Weston joined Leek in September 2012 having been previously on the books at West Bromwich Albion, Port Vale and Cheltenham Town. He has also played in Greece for AEL Kallonis and joins Market Drayton where they have been without a regular keeper for much of the season with their two strikers filling in between the sticks.
Lloyd-Weston is one of five keepers that manager Lee Casswell has used this season the others being Danny Roberts, Cameron Ringstead, Steve Hodgson and Ben Chapman.
The keeper's exit may not be the only Blues business with Market Drayton Town this week. Leek Town manager Lee Casswell is reportedly tracking their left-sided player Ryan Connor and hopes to sign him in time to join his squad for Tuesday's game at Chasetown.
