Knocked out striker on the mend

Coalville Town striker Edilson Antonio is expected to make a full recovery after being knocked out in the EVO-STIK Northern Premier League on Saturday.

The 22-year-old forward, pictured, was hurt in a clash of heads with Ashton United's Max Cartwright during his side's 3-1 defeat at The Mander Cruickshank Solicitors Stadium in the EVO-STIK NPL's top flight.

After being handed his first start for the Ravens since switching from Rushall Olympic in January, Antonio had to be substituted midway through the second half and was rushed to hospital soon afterwards after losing consciousness in the treatment room.

Antonio was sent home on Sunday and a relieved Ravens spokesman said: "After being treated by the doctors no lasting damage was found and he was released last night and is now at home recovering. Everyone at the club wished him a speedy recovery and we look forward to seeing him playing again soon."
