Lancaster strike loan deal for Shrimps defender

Morecambe manager Jim Bentley has sent defender James Short on loan to Evo-Stik NPL First Division North Lancaster City.

Short joined the Dolly Blues on a month's loan from the League Two Shrimps on Wednesday and Bentley believes the move into the Evo-Stik NPL will help the youngster's development.

He said: "I think James has done well for us and this move will really help him. He will be playing really competitive, regular games at a good level and will learn a lot as a footballer."

Short will be joined at the Giant Axe by midfielder Simon Willis who returned from Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division Kendal Town on Wednesday after leaving in the summer.
