Leaders taking nothing for granted

Basford United boss Martin Carruthers is warning against complacency with his EVO-STIK League leaders ten points clear and on course for promotion.

Carruthers believes his unbeaten side face a testing few days to cement their lead at the top of the EVO-STIK League South table with a trip to Newcastle Town on Saturday followed by a visit from Stamford at Greenwich Avenue on Monday night.

Carruthers, pictured, said: “The ten point lead means nothing and we still have so much to improve on and will not allow the players to become complacent. We face two tough games against teams who are expected to be thereabouts this season and who will be going all out to be the first to beat us.”
