League uniting for a hair-raising Movember!

The NPL Facebook Group's administrators have been leading the way again as the EVO-STIK Northern Premier League's fans, players and officials down razors for charity during 'Movember'.

After helping to raise more than £35,000 for men's health charities over the last four 'Movembers' by coordinating league-wide efforts, Bradley Dobson, Stewart James and Joseph Gibbons are among the group's volunteers documenting their own efforts to sprout sponsored facial hair via Facebook to help inspire their 3,000 plus members and their friends, families, colleagues and team-mates.

As in previous years, the NPL Facebook Group is giving those taking part a chance to show off their efforts, collect sponsorship and flag up the involvement of their clubs on a dedicated network page on the official 'Movember' website. To join, first register on the official 'Movember' website and then visit www.facebook.com/groups/TheNPL/ for more information and advice.

'Movember' first started in Australia back in 2004 and captured the imagination of men in the UK in 2009. Millions across the globe now take part and last season the whole of the BBC's Match of the Day team ended up being bearded by the end of month as footballers and fans up and down the country got involved.

The NPL Facebook Group are also selling their 'Movember' t-shirts again to raise funds and the developers of Football Manager 2015 have even joined in the fun by announcing that in the newly released version of the hit game, millions of players, including those competing in Non-League and the EVO-STIK NPL, can grow moustaches on their in-game avatars!

Dobson, one of the group's founders, said: "Everyone did extremely well again last year and I'm doing it this year for my manager at work who survived throat and mouth cancer.

"The campaign has always been well supported across the league over all formats and there is no stopping us again this season as we continue to follow our tradition of showing the world what the EVO-STIK Northern Premier League can do!"
