The best was definitely left until last when Ossett Town collected October’s Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Fair Play Award.
Craig Elliott’s side not only topped the First Division North fair play table, they were the best behaved side among the Evo-Stik NPL 68 clubs last month after collecting only a single yellow in four outings.
League Respect Manager Phil Bradley is pictured presenting an inscribed certificate marking their achievement to Ossett Town Chairman James Rogers, left, and Vice-Chairman Lee Broadbent before last Saturday’s clash with Radcliffe Borough at Ingfield.
Town were named at the start of the month alongside Premier Division winners Matlock Town and the First Division South’s best behaved side, leaders Leek Town.
Bradley was at Matlock Town the previous Saturday to present the Gladiators with their award while League Representative John Beaumont honoured the Blues at Harrison Park on the same day before their surprise 1-0 defeat by Rainworth Miners Welfare.
Matlock came out on top in the Evo-Stik NPL's top flight after collecting just four yellow cards in six league outings last month to post a disciplinary average of 0.67 points. The result lifts them to up sixth place in the season-to-date behaviour tables. The Blues picked up two yellows in four games to emerge with an average of 0.50 points and have climbed to third in the overall table. Ossett Town now lead their overall table after posting their disciplinary average of just 0.25.
