Legend on stage to entertain fans

Former Northern Ireland and Manchester United star Sammy McIIroy has been booked to entertain fans of EVO-STIK League Trafford next month.

Pictured being interviewed for MUTV, the 63-year-old former Morecambe, Macclesfield Town, Stockport County and Northwich Victoria boss is getting ready to be the guest speaker at the EVO-STIK League North club's next Sportsmen's Night at Davyhulme Park Golf Club on Friday 13 October.

The last youth player signed by Sir Matt Busby at Old Trafford, the last of the 'Busby Babes' won 88 caps and scored five goals for Northern Ireland while playing for his country in all of their matches at the 1982 and 1986 World Cups.

After over a decade in midfield for United, McLLroy went on to turn out for Stoke City, Manchester City, Örgryte in Sweden, Bury and Admira Wacker in Austria before returning to England to play for Preston North End and briefly for Northwich Vics before hanging up his boots in 1993.
