Macclesfield captain signs new deal

Macclesfield captain Laurent Mendy has agreed a contract extension that will see him stay at the club until the end of the 2023/24 campaign.

Mendy has been virtually an ever-present since the club began, having signed following an impressive trial performance.

During their first season in existence, he captained the side to the NWCFL title.

He has made 31 appearances in all competitions for the Pitching In NPL West Division league leaders during the current campaign.

“I’m very happy to hear about this news,” he said. “I’ve always dreamed about having this kind of contract as I’ve never had it before.

“With hard work comes reward, and I’m really happy.”
