John Wildman and Geoff Kewley appointed at Club’s annual meeting.

Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Marine announces that former long serving Secretary John Wildman has been appointed Club President replacing the retiring Jean Pierre Hall at this weeks annual general meeting in the clubrooms at the Arriva Stadium. Treasurer Geoff Kewley at the same meeting was also elected as an Honorary Life member in recognition of his service to the Club in that position for over thirty years.

John Wildman, 59, had been Secretary for twenty years retiring in 2010 but he had also served on the Clubs management committee since 1975 until retiring as Secretary. He was also the programme editor for 14 seasons and for a number of years provided the match reports for the Crosby Herald. Geoff Kewley, 69, was appointed Joint Honorary Treasurer 32 years ago in 1980 and is to retire shortly. Both John Wildman and Geoff Kewley, Marine fans since they were boys, already hold the position of Club Vice President in past recognition of their service to Marine.

Marine Chairman Paul Leary said:

“John Wildman and Geoff Kewley have given so much of their lives to Marine Football Club.
They have both set the highest of standards in loyalty, commitment, devotion and support to Marine Football Club. In carrying out their duties they have earned total respect from fellow clubs as experienced football club administrators and I am very pleased that their service at Marine has been rewarded by the members in this way. Their contribution to the well being of Marine Football Club has been massive and I am sure that they will continue to serve their Club as they have done for so many years.”

Paul Leary added:

“I would like to thank the retiring President Jean Pierre Hall for the fantastic support that he has given to his colleagues and friends at Marine both in his time as President and in the many years previously. Jean has indicated that he will continue to help in the future and that is great news and I delighted that he will remain involved in the Club for which he has supported so well in the past.”
