The Evo-Stik NPL Premieir Division outfit are now racing to complete their summer ground development, including the installation of new spotlights and an upgraded pitch, ahead of the first warm-up clash with Accrington Stanley on Monday 16 July.

Neighbours Tranmere Rovers follow on Saturday 28 July and then Rochdale on Tuesday 31 July. The Tranmere game kicks off at 3pm kick off while 7.30pm kicks off have been pencilled in for the visits of Rochdale and Accrington.

A Wigan Athletic XI outfit completes the line-up on Sunday 5 August with an earlier 2pm kick off.

Marine Chairman Paul Leary thanked their high profile opposition for agreeing to the dates and promised that the Arriva would be in tip top condition for fans attending the warm-up campaign.

“I would like to thank the Football League clubs and Wigan for agreeing to visit the Arriva Stadium and for playing an important part in our preparations and plans for the new season," said Leary.

"The Arriva Stadium will look really well for these games and especially the pitch which has had another planned upgrade. Ahead of the games I would like to welcome the players, officials and supporters of Wigan Athletic, Accrington Stanley, Tranmere Rovers and Rochdale.

"I'm sure that both Marine and our visitors will benefit from the games as we all look forward to a promising season.”

Marine Manger Kevin Lynch believes the matches are prefect preparation for the up coming campaign and urged supporters to come along and get behind his team.

He said: “These games are not only brilliant for our club and supporters, who I hope will come out in force to support us, but excellent in helping me to prepare for the new season ahead.

"These will be very tough games but it’s not about the results. It’s about the fitness preparation which we will gain from such high profile clubs coming to the Arriva Stadium.

"I would also like to thank all the clubs personally for bringing their teams to help us in our preparations for the coming season.”

Admission prices for the games have been reduced with adults £5, concessions £3 and children aged 11 and under admitted free when accompanied by an adult.
