Marine to launch 125th anniversary book

The book contains more than 500 photographs and 50,000 words over 370 pages, documenting many moments from the club’s illustrious history.

Marine Community Officer and life-time fan Barry Lenton compiled the book over a two year period and Marine fan Neil McAdam prepared the print file for the printing company The Printroom UK based in Litherland.

Club Chairman Paul Leary said: “This has been a great project to be involved in taking over two years from inception to delivery of the books this week.

“Barry Lenton, Neil McAdam and Dave Mann have contributed superbly to what in the end is a fantastic record of our 125 years. The finished publication is of the highest quality and Barry, Neil and Dave should be so proud of what they have achieved.

“I have no doubt that the book will be hugely popular, not just for Marine fans but all football fans across Merseyside and beyond, and as Christmas looms, it is bound to be one of the best sellers around.”

Of the 160 books delivered to Marine on Wednesday nearly 80 copies have been pre-ordered. The book is A4 in size, is in full colour and has been produced to a very high quality gloss finish by the printers. The book retails at £28 and will be on sale on the launch night and thereafter at Marine home games in the Club shop.

The book will be available for collection at a book launch to be held by club officials on Friday 11th October 2019 starting at 7:30pm in the Graham Lounge.

There will also be a book signing by Barry Lenton at Prichard’s bookshop in Crosby Village on Saturday 12th October between 10am and midday.
