Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Marine have slashed admission prices for next week’s quarter-final clash with Everton in the Liverpool Senior Cup.

Nearly 800 fans turned out the last time the sides met in the competition in 2011 and the Premier Division’s Mariners say they are determined to attract another big gate, and a four figure one if possible, to the Arriva Stadium on Thursday 13 February. As a result, officials announced on Monday that adult admission will be halved to £5 with concessions down to £3.

Marine Chairman Paul Leary is also hoping a few fans of their Premier League neighbours will adopt Liverpool’s number one Non-League club as their second team and return to the Arriva in future after the tie which kicks off at 7.45pm.

Leary said: "Admission prices have been halved in a bold move to encourage the many Everton fans to visit Marine for this quarter final tie of the Liverpool Senior Cup.

"I think that the admission pricing this time could attract over 1,000 so I look forward to welcoming the officials, players and supporters of Everton to the Arriva Stadium in what should be a really exciting game for both clubs as they look for a place in a semi-final.

"I hope the many Everton fans visiting the Arriva Stadium for the first time will enjoy the game and maybe some could adopt Marine as their second favourite team. It would be great if we were to see them again supporting Marine when not able to watch Everton."

Leary added: "This is a great cup-tie for Marine Football Club to stage. There will be another super Arriva Stadium atmosphere with probably our highest attendance of the season.

"The Liverpool Senior Cup is now our only chance of success this season and we shall be doing our absolute best to progress into the semi-final stages of this important county cup competition."
