Marske duo set to depart

Following the departure of manager Carl Jarrett last week, Marske United have now revealed that two long-serving players have requested to leave the club.

Winger Curtis Round and central midfielder Glen Butterworth will depart the North Yorkshire side.

Both featured in their 2017/18 title-winning season, when the Seasiders gained promotion to the Pitching In NPL East East Division.

In the same term, Round became Marske’s top scorer for the campaign, netting 18 goals in 33 games.

The versatile midfielder has previously played for Guisborough Town, Redcar Town and Whitby Town, and has made just short of 250 appearances for Marske to date.

Butterworth also featured for Guisborough and had a spell with Billingham Town.

The midfielder has amassed over 395 appearances for The Seasiders, scoring 66 goals during his time at the club.

Marske have struggled of late to gain any sort of momentum in the league, having lost their last three league games.

They will look to restore the feel-good factor within the club as they prepare to face Matlock Town later this evening.

Where next?

Former player returns to the Zeeco Stamford have announced the re-signing of Oliver Brown-Hill on a three-month loan deal.
