As well as being his 50th goal in 85 appearances for Albion since making his debut in December 2015, the striker's 10th minute equaliser in his side's 2-1 reverse was the 2,500th goal scored by the club during 36 seasons competing in the Northern Premier League!
According to proud officials at Wincham Park, Hopley's strike came in their 1,488th match since kicking off in the NPL for the first time at Burton Albion on August 18 1979, John Walker scoring their first goal.
Since joining the competition, Witton Albion have spent 24 of their seasons in the top flight. Under manager Carl Macauley the club won promotion back to the EVO-STIK League Premier Division for the 2017-18 campaign as EVO-STIK League South runners-up and play-off winners.
Hopley, pictured, kicked of his career at Macclesfield Town before moving on to Winsford United, Leek Town, Colwyn Bay and Chester FC. The 32-year-old also recorded another milestone during a brief spell with the latter, scoring newly-born Chester FC’s very first competitive goal in August 2010.
