Milestone month for Ferriby

North Ferriby United monthly update, by Richard Watts

There have been three appearance milestones during the month.

Chris Bolder made his 250th appearance for the club in the game v Bradford Park Avenue and Russell Fry made his 200th appearance for the club v Whitby Town. Kevin Larvin brought up his 150th appearance in the F A Trophy tie v Corby Town.

In the league NFU have consolidated a mid table position, thanks to 3 wins out of 3 in the month, a home win against Bradford Park Avenue and away wins at Buxton and Whitby. Despite NFU’s good form a third successive appearance in the Play Offs looks out of reach. Manager Billy Heath is however assembling a squad that could well challenge at the top end of the table next season. Latest additions are:

- James Bennett, 23 year old midfielder who has football league experience with Darlington. Joined from Bridlington Town.
- Dominic Riodran, 24 year old defender signed from Stocksbridge Park Steels, he has previously played for Bradford Park Avenue and Ossett Albion.
- Greg Anderson, 27 year old defender signed from F C Halifax Town, joined Halifax in July 2011, previously spent four years at Buxton who he captained.
- Tim Taylor, 19 year old midfielder from Hall Road Rangers.

NFU’s F A Trophy run came to an end with a home defeat at the hands of Chester F C in front of the biggest home crowd of the season so far 510.

18 year old defender Louis Mobbs, who is on the fringes of the first team squad has been selected for the England Colleges Squad and is set to make his first appearance against Australia at Upton Park in the New Year.

Off the pitch NFU have launched their pitch sponsorship scheme, £10 per square for 12 months. 34% of the playing surface at the Rapid Solicitor’s stadium is now sponsored.
