The return of the Seadogs from their lowest ebb to fight for the title and promotion will be in the international spotlight next week on Eurosport after the satellite sports station commissioned Pitch International to cover the club's inspirational story since liquidation in 2007 and reformation by fans.
Steve Kittrick's side are currently second in EVO-STIK League North and through to the semi-finals of the North Riding FA Senior Cup after beating local rivals Pickering Town at the Flamingo Land Stadium on Tuesday night, pictured, and the Seadogs manager is one of a number of players and officials interviewed on the five minute peice for Eurosport.
Featuring scenic shots of the town and famous port for viewers around the globe, others include lifelong fan director Geoff Osguthorpe, hometown star Michael Coulson and former player Chris Tate who was in the dressing room the day news came through in May 1999 that Carlisle keeper Jimmy Glass had scored in the 96th minute on the last day of the season to relegate them from the Football League and kick off their rapid decline.
Former Barnsley, Grimsby and York midfielder Coulson, a boyhood fan who returned home to play in front of record crowds this season, tells viewers that the club owes its current success and very existence to supporters after going from seeing them playing Chelsea in the FA Cup at the Old McCain Stadium to ruin within three years.
The 29-year-old says: "What's gone on behind the scenes by the fans has been incredible. Everybody deserves a massive pat on the back."
