The only game in the EVO-STIK Northern Premier League's First Division on Monday night paired struggling sides New Mills and Ossett Town together at Church Lane,l writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.
The Millers occupy second-bottom spot and are in need of points to prevent them being cast adrift alongside bottom-markers Padiham.
Town have won only once in their last six games and are one of the teams New Mills are hoping to catch. However, a 2-1 success for the visitors makes the gap between them nine points.
The Millers got the boost of a lead just before half-time through Matt Landregan. But 10 minutes into the second half Richard Patterson`s far post header pulled Ossett back on level terms.
And then with 17 minutes to go Grant Allott scrambled the ball home from close range to give Town the crucial three points.
