Monday's First South action review

Evo-Stik NPL First Division South

Halesowen Town moved to within a point of Evo-Stik Northern Premier League's First Division South leaders Leek Town after completing a 2-0 win at Romulus on Monday night, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

The Roms, whose recent good run has seen them move to within sight of the top five themselves, looked as though they were going to get a point at Coles Lane before the Yeltz hit them with two goals in the final three minutes of the game.

The breakthrough finally arrived when Joe Hull headed home from close range and then 60 seconds later, Halesowen netted a rather fortunate second when an Aaron Griffiths cross arched over Roms keeper Lewis Exall and into the back of the net.
