Looking to keep their momentum going heading into the play-off semi-finals, Cables suffered back-to-back defeats after losing at Brighouse Town at the weekend.
They will still be hoping to finish on a high at home to Radcliffe in their final game of the season on Saturday in an attempt to stay ahead of Bamber Bridge and finish fourth after the only goal at the Kensite Stadium came through a Ben Hardcastle penalty following a foul on Liam O`Neill in the 16th minute.
Cables` conquerors last Saturday, Brighouse, made it three wins in succession as they look to move out of the bottom four.
The Yorkshire side beat Ramsbottom United 3-2 at the Dual Seal Stadium, taking a 22nd minute lead through Adam Field. Aaron Martin added a second four minutes after half-time but goals from Jerome Wright on 56 minutes and a Greg Daniels penalty after 67 minutes pulled Rammy back on level terms. A fine solo effort from Mo Ibrahim two minutes into stoppage time then won it for Brighouse.
