Monday's Premier Division action review

By David Watters

An 82nd minute penalty separated Ilkeston FC and Barwell in the only game in the EVO-STIK Northern Premier League Premier Division on Monday night after a competitive encounter that deserved to end with honours even, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

The game was played at pace between two youthful sides in adverse conditions, the wet surface challenging the ability of both teams.

And after cancelling each other out, the decisive moment when Charles Weston got the better of advancing keeper Liam Castle before being brought down by Declan Towers.

The referee had no hesitation in pointing towards the penalty spot and skipper Liam Marshall stepped up to convert the spot-kick.
