Ilkeston FC returned to winning ways in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Premier Division after hammering ten-man Stocksbridge Park Steels 6-1 at the New Manor Ground on Monday night, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.
Laurie Wilson opened the scoring from the penalty spot after 15 minutes before adding a second from the spot on the half-hour mark. The visitors were reduced to ten-men in the process of the second penalty with Steels’ keeper Jack Ward given a straight red for a foul on Gary Ricketts.
Ellis Storey then made it 3-0 with a header in first half stoppage time before Nathan Joynes volleyed Steels back into the game after 64 minutes.
A terrific 30-yard volley from Matt Richards later made it 4-1 and game over before Michael Williams made it a nap hand five minutes from time. Kane Richards completed the rout a minute from the end.
