The First Division North Moors announced the departure of their assistant manager, pictured, on Sunday night following talks over the weekend with manager Jason Ainsley.
Before arriving at The Brewery Field midway through last season after managing West Auckland Town, the 44-year-old secured Gateshead's survival at end of the 2012-13 campaign after stepping in as caretaker boss before Christmas and being confirmed as the Football Conference outfit's permanent manager soon afterwards.
In a statement released by the Moors, Ainsley said the decision to go their separate ways had been made by mutual consent before thanking his former number two for his efforts since his appointment in December 2014.
He said: "After discussions over the weekend we have decided to mutually part company. The performances over the majority of the first half of the season haven't been where we would have expected and we all need to take responsibility, especially myself.
"We are going into the last three months of the season with a lot to play for and I feel a change was required to give us every possible opportunity to reach the play-offs which is well within our capabilities.
"I would like to thank Anthony for his professionalism and hard work since he joined us and wish him well in the future."
