Morpeth feeding families

Morpeth Town have joined forces with Feeding Families as their chosen charity of the month.

Feeding Families is a North East charity that tries to bring some sparkle to families in need at Christmas by helping to provide food hampers.

The charity works in two ways.

Firstly, they have donors who are keen to give a hamper and they will be matched to a family and will prepare and deliver that hamper themselves.

By making that personal connection it encourages the community to help each other.

Secondly, they have pop-up packing centres where food is donated by businesses or people who aren’t able to give a full hamper.

With groups of volunteers we make up the Christmas hampers and deliver these to families or to charities in the region.

This year, to meet demand, they will be running a packing centre from Northumberland.

Families have told the charity that receiving a hamper has completely changed their Christmas and those at Feeding Families want to continue spreading the message of love and support.

To get involved please visit www.feedingfamilies.org.uk or contact our trustee in Northumberland, sarah@feedingfamilies.org.uk. Thank you for donating.
