Former striker Adam Muller returned to the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League's Unicorns on Saturday to take his first steps into management as assistant manager.

Muller, pictured, who enjoyed a short spell at the First Division North's Dimple Wells last season before joining Premier Division Buxton before the transfer deadline, will work alongside Ossett Albion's manager Richard Tracey.

Tracey is delighted to team up with the experienced striker who has also had spells with Guiseley, Eastwood Town, Ilkeston Town, Worksop Town and more recently league rivals Farsley AFC.

Tracey said: "I am delighted that Adam has returned to the club. It was a big blow last season when he joined Buxton. He has expressed a wish to become more involved and I had no hesitation offering him the position of assistant manager. His wealth of experience can only be of benefit to the club."

Tracey also announced over the weekend that a number of key players had now committed to the forthcoming campaign by re-signing.

The Unicorns manager added: "Pre-season training is going really well and a number of key players have re-signed including young goalkeeper Adam Rhodes, Henry Owen, Niall O’Brien and last season’s player of the year Stefan Holt despite strong interest and offers from a number of clubs.

"Veteran defensive duo of Steve Nicholson and Rob Tonks has also re-signed. Their wealth of experience will help the younger members of the squad. I am also looking at several trialists and expect to strengthen the squad with a number of new signings over the coming weeks."

* Albion are also looking to find new trialists for their second string and U19 squads. The reserves play in the Eastern Division of the Lancashire League and are the current champions with the likes of Hyde FC and FC United of Manchester also competing in their division.

The U19s play in the Northern U19 Alliance and the club say potential players should contact them via contact forms on their official website. Players are also invited to turn up for training on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7pm over the coming weeks to be considered.
