New arrival at Workington

Workington AFC have signed free agent Lewis Farmer.

The attacking midfielder, 20, is a former Sheffield Wednesday player and captained their U18s side during his four years at Hillsborough.

He has already trained with Danny Grainger’s squad and attended their two most recent matches.

Stockport-based, Farmer has previously spent time on loan at Redditch United.

He will link up with the Reds as they continue their push for promotion in the Pitching In NPL West Division.

They have lost just once in their last 16 matches, leaving them nine points adrift of current league leaders Macclesfield.
