New name for Newcastle stadium

First Division South club sell naming rights to Aspire.

Newcastle Town's home ground is to be renamed as part of a new sponsorship deal.

Social housing group Aspire has become a lead sponsor of the club meaning that the Lyme Valley Stadium will be renamed The Aspire Stadium from Thursday.

Newcastle based Aspire is also sponsoring the under 8s, 9s, 12s, 13s and 16s teams. On Thursday chief executive Sinead Butters is due to formally present the captain and coach of each team with their new shirts in front of the main stand.

Sinead said "The Aspire Group is committed to create prosperous communities in North Staffordshire. We wanted to support the Youth Team programme at Newcastle Town as it matches our vision to help provide opportunities to develop life skills for local people. Through the club youngsters learn life skills such as teamwork, competition, healthy eating and being active."

Chairman Paul Ratcliffe added "We are delighted with this deal - now all our youth teams are sponsored with Aspire being the main sponsor. The renaming of the stadium is excellent for both Aspire and ourselves. It's a perfect partnership."
