New Owl on board

Local businessman Paul Hickling has joined the board of directors at Cleethorpes Town.

A sponsor of the club through his business East Trans, Hickling took less than 48 hours to decide when approached to join the board.

He told the club’s official website: “I’d like to say thank you to the board for presenting me with this opportunity. I’ve always been a big supporter of the club and have enjoyed attending many of the games.

“It’s great to see how far the players have come and how much the club has transformed over the past few years.

“I’m delighted to have been asked to work closely with the directors on moving the club forward.

“The club itself is an asset to our community and I have always been a proud supporter of what CTFC have achieved to date.

“I’m looking forward to seeing the season start in 2020 and the club developing further along with everybody else at the Linden Club.”

The Owls were in their third season in the Northern Premier League and sat third in the S/East Division table when the season was suspended.

Fellow director, David Mann, said: “We’re delighted to have Paul join the board of directors, this will give the club a significant boost and also further increase the clubs capacity to grow and strengthen.

“I have known Paul a number of years through our respective businesses and I know he will be a fantastic addition to the club. Paul has a big ethos on keeping things local and looking to support the youth as well so it bodes well for the future.”
