New season, new look for fundraising duo!

Farsley Celtic's fundraising CEO Joshua Greaves is happy with his new charity induced look despite admitting he now bears more than a than a passing resemblance to Uncle Fester from the Addams Family!

Along with the club's head of media Rob Winterbottom, Greaves had his head shaved on the pitch at Throstle Nest before Celtic kicked off against Kendal Town on Saturday's opening day to the EVO-STIK Northern Premier League campaign.

Together, the pair had raised £1070 at the last count on Monday thanks to the generosity of fans at the First Division North fixture and others who've donated £650 to their online fundraising page since they announced in July that they'd be undertaking MacMillan Cancer Support's Brave The Shave Challenge.

After getting their old name back last season, the First Division North club held an open day to mark the big kick-off to the new season and Greaves was delighted with the donations from the bumper crowd who turned out despite the result on the pitch, a 3-0 reverse for manager Neil Parsley's side.

Greaves, who was appointed in May and at 27 is one of the youngest chief executive officers in football, said: "It was absolutely well worth the effort. We had a great day with 419 in for an open day who've helped us to raise approximately £1070 so far for such a great cause.

Barbers Mo's at Bramley took charge of the shearing and Greaves added: "We're happy with our new look and the hair will grow back eventually! I knew I was going to get stick for the Uncle Fester look but the money raised is going to a great cause and fans cans still donate if they want to at the online fundraising page."
