New youth sponsor loves a learner!

Marine's younger players will know who to call if they need driving lessons after the EVO-STIK Northern Premier League club's officials unveiled their newest sponsor, driving school boss and fan Rob Fyffe.

Pictured with youth team player Liam Murray and youth team manager John Barnes, right, Fyffe's locally-based Drive My Car School of Motoring are now proud front of shirt sponsors of the home and away kits of Marine's U18s.

Fyffe, who offers driving lessons to the Crosby and surrounding areas from £25 per hour and blocks of 10 hours for £230, has signed a one year deal to have his driving school's name on the Macron kit which sports the same design as last season's first team strip.

Fyffe said: "I'm very happy to provide this additional support to Marine AFC this season, particularly to the youth set-up as I have been impressed with what I have seen so far.

"Whether it is football coaching or driver training, I feel that it's important for young people to have good quality advice and guidance, if taught the right way knowledge, understanding and skills will stay with an individual for life."

Marine vice chairman Dave McMillan said: "This is a great partnership with Rob's business and supports our ongoing youth development plans with youth team manager John Barnes. A number of U18 players have already featured in the first team pre-season friendlies and I'm sure will go on to make their competitive debuts for the Mariners this season."

He added: "I'd like to extend my thanks to Rob for his sponsorship for what I hope will be a mutually beneficial partnership to both Marine AFC and Drive My Car School of Motoring."

Marine youth manager Barnes said: "It's fantastic news that Rob and his business Drive My Car School of Motoring have sponsored my Marine AFC Youth U18 for the 2016-17 season.

"Not only will his business help my squad but Rob is an massive Marine AFC supporter, travelling everywhere to watch the first team. He has also shown superb commitment already by attending the pre-season games for my U18s so this was a perfect match for the club and Drive My Car School of Motoring."
