The Midlands Air Ambulance Service is set to be the big winner next weekend when EVO-STIK League newcomers Tividale host Quorn in The Joe McGorian Memorial Cup.

The Dale, promoted into First Division South as Midland Football Alliance champions, are kicking off at 3pm next Saturday (July 26) at the Beeches against their former league rivals.

The annual pre-season fixture between the Midland Football Alliance League title winners and MFA League Cup winners is named after Joe McGorian who was a vice-president of the MFA from its inception until he passed away during the 2010-2011 season.

He was also president of Solihull Borough FC before the club went on to merge with Moor Green FC to form Solihull Moors FC. After his death the MFA decided to rename the trophy, which he orginally presented to the league, the Joe McGorian Memorial Cup in his honour.

All receipts from the match will be donated to the Midlands Air Ambulance, the MFA's chosen charity. Admission prices have been set at £5 adults and £2 concessions.
